Cards & Calligraphy

Hello! 🙂

This space has been a little quiet and dusty lately. The girl wasn’t well. All those times away from the gym and classes were spent on papers, pens, ink pots, nibs and colours. Take a look below!

This was before paying a visit to Art Friend. Feeling feverish made me lazy and sluggish. I used a simple black ballpoint pen to draw out the alphabets. Tried my best to give them a Copperplate effect, but deep down I know it’ll never match up to the actual thing.

So I went to get these babies from Art Friend one evening after work! I may have had black ink staining my fingertips and splotching across my pad from time to time, but practising calligraphy for an hour seems to be something I look forward to every day. 🙂

These were done during lunchtime at work. I pack my lunches most of the time, so I don’t really have to leave the cave (i.e. my table, hahah).

Hoping to learn calligraphy from an expert and put it into practice one day. Have a great week, everybody! 🙂

  1. Hi there. I found your entry while googling artfriend-callygraphy. Can you believe that you are the only one that i found share the picture of it? Haha. So wrong when i thought semuanya di hujung jari.

    So, my questions are:

1)Which section should i turn to if i go to art friend?

    2)Is it pricey?

Haha. I hope i dont bother you. Thank you so much in advance.

    • Hello! Oh, wow. I didn’t know that hahah! I visited the one at Clementi. They have their own section for calligraphy. If you’re not sure where, don’t hesitate to approach their staff! For the nibs and holders, they’re not pricey. I bought the loose holders and Nikko G nibs. As for the ink, you can find cheaper alternatives at Daiso. Hope this helps, and thank you for dropping by! 🙂

      • Hi! Thank you for reply☺☺☺

Thank you for your time and keep posting!
I would love to see more from you. Have a nice day!
