Framed Art | Birthdays

Good day, m’dears. πŸ™‚

For my first batch of pre-orders that I mentioned previously, I’ve got lovely people ordering the frames as birthday gifts.
I experimented with bright colours for this galaxy painting. The sister of the birthday girl wanted something red/pink/purple, something vibrant for her. I didn’t really wait for my first layer of paint to dry before adding the darker colours because I’d like to have that wet-on-wet/bleed/blended effect as shown above. After covering the text with masking fluid and painting the background, I decided to throw in a bit of silver here and there, like a milky way. Added laurels in for that feminine touch too!

For this piece, I had the urge to combine galaxyΒ and clouds when cool blue hues were requested. I thought the galaxy-cloud idea that I had was pretty weird at first, but I loved how the piece turned out in the end. I covered each cloud with paint and lifted a bit of it off its center in order to have that 3D effect. Had white dots all over to give it a little sparkle as well. πŸ™‚

Then I plucked up the courage to play with soft florals. I’ve been pushing them away because the last time I tried, my roses looked like brains, hahah. I did not draw the flowers and leaves before painting. I just drew a line across to ensure equal distribution and that they did not touch the text. I like that the flowers and leaves here are not rigid or confined within pencil lines. Here’s a WIP/BTS shot!

I decided to talk a little more about my paintings to give everyone a sneak peek on what goes on behind the scene. I wish that it inspires you to get creative as well. πŸ™‚

In other news, I’ve added a page for my portfolio. Click on “PORTFOLIO” at the top-right corner to browse through the gallery! It’s workshop day today, wish me luck!

Love,
